D.C. turned a blind eye to efforts by a variety of American or American based groups that resupplied weaponry as well as offering training and combat assistance. While the USSR is no more, the Russian memory has gone nowhere. There is no way that they will let us do what they, as the USSR, could not. For us to win in Afghanistan, we will have to defeat a resistance that is being supplied and supported with logistics, intelligence, and supplies by the Russians or their assigns.

In an ideal world, we would simply release the information that they are returning the favor and that it was making the endeavor too expensive in terms of money and lives and we quit. But that would require balls and smarts,

Not gonna happen I suppose.CAFKIAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09886621192762936265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1987487943892549196.post-54472471952668305322008-12-10T19:13:00.000-08:002008-12-10T19:13:00.000-08:00I know a lot about military history and freaked ou...I know a lot about military history and freaked out when I learned that the presence there was going to be permanent, not just raiding.

It's still a miracle to me why the BRITISH actually fell into the trap (again).

Another miracle is why the Pashtuns didn't cut the truck supply line yet.

The whole justification for the war rests on questionable assumptions about what would happen without the war.

A continuation of the war/occupation/puppet regime will only lead to defeat, KIA, WIA, dead/maimed civilians, wasted resources and wasted attention.

I hope we'll get rid of such useless Great Power games soon. Expeditions to the most remote regions are simply not beneficiary for national/alliance security.S Ohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03359796414832859686noreply@blogger.com
